Auto And Tech| Trinasolar, a global pioneer in smart PV and energy storage, has teamed up with Smart Commercial Solar to provide an advanced solar panel installation for AstraZeneca’s new big rooftop car park at its Macquarie Park manufacturing facility.The project, a bold and influential venture, saves huge amounts of energy by utilizing a relatively recent breakthrough in commercial renewable energy: solar car blinds.
The Macquarie Park complex includes 1,092 Trinasolar modules, which generate around 911 MWh per year and allow solar energy to cover 16% of the site’s energy requirements. The car shade project, completed in just six months, supports AstraZeneca’s Ambition Zero Carbon goal and includes four electric vehicle charging stations for employees and guests, demonstrating the company’s dedication to sustainable energy innovation.
Anastasi Kotoros, Project Lead from EPC, Smart Commercial Solar, emphasized the necessity of selecting the proper hardware for commercial installations.
“Trinasolar’s bifacial modules are functionally designed and efficient, allowing sunlight to pass through while increasing yield from reflected rays. Trinasolar hardware was a logical fit for this installation. With cutting-edge, modern glass panelling, we were able to design a practical, user-friendly solar car park that precisely compliments AstraZeneca’s environmental ambitions.”
